Open the Book is a registered charity, number 1142199 Teachers & SchoolsWhat OPEN THE BOOK brings to schoolsFor teachers and other school professionals, OPEN THE BOOK is a valuable resource, providing a strong, consistent and on-going feature for assembly times. This can also act as a supplement to R.E. activities. OPEN THE BOOK is not intended to be used by school professionals as a resource book for assemblies. Churches are willing to offer this as a free service to schools. The work of OPEN THE BOOK has been favourably received by OFSTED and SIAS and helps primary schools in meeting their statutory Collective Worship obligations under the 1998 Schools Standards & Framework Act. OPEN THE BOOK is a non-profit organisation and no information is shared with any other organisation. OPEN THE BOOK is available to any and all primary schools in the UK, at no cost, and with no other commitment beyond the time it takes a team to present a 10-15 minute Bible story once a week. Teams will need to have reasonable access to the place where the stories are to be presented so that they can have a sufficient time to prepare. OPEN THE BOOK will only ever present their work at the express invitation of a school, and will never try to "sell" themselves. Our aim is to purely convey Bible stories to children - there is no commercial agenda to our work. Although OPEN THE BOOK is a national organisation, teams come from the local churches. If schools would like to enjoy OPEN THE BOOK assemblies, contact the local church and pass on the details of OPEN THE BOOK. Contact the National Coordinator for information on getting started.
